Dune is a 1965 science-fiction novel by American author Frank Herbert, originally published as two separate serials in Analog magazine. It tied with Roger Zelazny's This Immortal for the Hugo Award in 1966, and it won the inaugural Nebula Award for Best Novel. It is the first installment of the Dune saga; in 2003, it was cited as the world's best-selling science fiction novel.Dune is set in the distant future amidst a feudal interstellar society in which various noble houses control planetary fiefs. 2018: too slow. 2025: loved it

2018 read: 5 stars because it was so interesting, but was a 1-star slog to get through.

2025 re-read: 5 stars on all fronts; guessing I was just not in the mood for this pacing the last time around. Loved so much about this book. Would re-read again now and excited to continue to the next books.

Må lese mer!

Boka startet litt treg og komplisert, men etter hvert som jeg kom inn i det ble jeg fanget av historien! Spennende kombinasjon av både kultur, religion og politikk. Nå må jeg videre til å lese Dune: Messiah!
